Pawley's Island, SC esp. the south end of the Island (the public acess beach).
Lots of room at high tide...ACRES and ACRES of room at low tide
AND...
It's the only public beach in the state where you may legally consume alcohol (as long as it's not a glass container). |

| Pretty much the only place I fly now. Fairly small park in a "young family" section of Kingman, AZ, about a mile or so from my home. Not much to block the wind so it's a nice & steady 5-10 mph most days of the year. Lots of kids go there, so I usually have an audience. Short cropped grass for the dead launches, most of the time I have the space to myself. Just don't ask me about the small trees lining one side of the park, it wasn't me, ok? Really... |

However, if I can't get to the ocean, I'll drive about 20 minutes to Enumclaw, Wa. where there is generally a wing coming from the foothills of the Cascades. If you are in the area, drop by Sunrise Elementary School. It's a huge field and w-i-d-e open.

Being in the NW I too love flying at Ocean Shores and Longbeach. The school you're talking about, Sunrise, is that the one in the Kent School District? |
