The line from the towpoint to the spine is called the inhaul. What's a cheat/trick line for? It's multi-purpose. It help keep the flying lines from wrapping around the wingtip and aids in getting out a tipwrap, and it keeps the flying line off the TE when the kite is on it's back or rolled-up.
