Hey all, I'm pretty new here, and have just been poking around the forums for about 15 minutes now, and decided to finally make my own post.
I have just bought a NTK/Dodd Gross Ignitor from a kite shop while I was on vacation. I took it down to the beach, and man does it fly well (I'm super new now to sport kites, 3 days. ) I've read the little instruction packet it comes with, and have tried some of the tricks. Like the one where it spins. That was pretty cool. I sadly did not get the video with this purchase, and intend on picking it up soon. I then came here, to check out the site, and to have a look at the other kites, when I found the Dodd Gross video in the downloads section. Dang man, you are GOOD. All of those tricks, I don't know what any of them are called, are awesome. I really liked the one where the kite was "dancing" on its tips. Well, here's finally my question.
Around my neighborhood it's not really windy. I sometimes get a good day of wind, but most of the time, it's really dismal. Seeing as I can't go to the beach whenever I want to fly the kite, which is all the time, it's 3-4 hours away, I was wondering what I could do to get my kite up in the air.
Secondly, I was wondering where I could pick up some of those wrist straps? I live around Seattle Washington, and in my area, I don't think there are really any specialty kite shops.
Also, I was wondering about purchasing a new kite, and am wondering what to get and where to get it. Preferably on-line. I'll have a check of e-bay after this, see what they have to offer.
Thanks for your help. |

hello! good to see new poeple coming around
Im fairly new myself and could comment on the other questions but i feel those should be better answered by others.
as for this one though i can reccomend a ntk pyro xs. it will do the tricks you will want to start with and more.
its almost a steal as far as what you are getting vs the price.
a good place to order from that i use is
http://www.gwtw-kites.com/
you can find wrist straps there as well, although the pyroxs, if you chose to go that routw, comes ready to fly with straps and line on a winder, also comes with a nice carrying bag.
hope this helps.
you can find a pyro xs video somewhere. ill look in a bit and try to find a link for you. _________________ Chris Christian

| Hmmm, looks like I could work with it. But, I think I might wait a little bit now that I think about it, so I can be sure that I'm alright with my "skills." Thanks though. |
