New Tech Kites

When tightening the leech line (white dacron) does the loop go in the notch or do I pull the Knot through the notch.. I looked at the photos on eds gallerey but I still am unclear.

Just loop it over the knock

That's what I thought.... but it seems very loose when just looped over... as though there is really no tension at all on the leech line.

Is it possible the loop is tied too far out.

Then it needs to be untied and retied. I am talking about the white leech line.

Some day I will get this up on our site. But here goes.

#1. With kite assembled, with the tension line assmbled and tight, unhook the white leech line on both sides and untie the loop that has already been pretied

#2. loop it over the knock, put enouth tension on it until you see some wrinkle in the sail, and then back off a bit, hold it in position and place the section of the line that you looped over the knock next to the section of it that is comming out of the kite.

#3. Mark both sections of that line with a magic marker, this will be your mark to tie your new loop, this is where the knot will go.

#4. now take the tension from the sail out by taking the standoffs out of the connectors on the lower spreaders, and unhooking the black tension line from the knocks. This will give you room to pull a bit of white line out to tie the new loop, BECAREFUL, dont pull out too much, just enough to make the loop.

#5. Now assemble it all back together and it should be good to go

This goes for any kite that uses a leech line

I didn't realize I would get help from the guy who designed the product. Couldn't ask for better customer service than that.
