I had a blow-out of a day yesterday. Both my ntkites are out of commission not punny.
I let my friend fly my desire for like 2 seconds and he promptly crunched the spine rod. I need to replace it. What is the best way to do this? Online source? If so I was wondering if someone would provide me the length dimension - mine is in several pieces not all of which are with me.
Also I screwed up and lost?? the ferrule to connect upper and lower leading edge of my techno. What is the scoop on this piece? is it tapered? what's the length? how far is it inserted into the upper (I think)? do I glue it back in place? If so with what?

Depending on where you live there are many options for spare parts and materials. Here are some of the most popular:
www.goodwindskites.com (Seattle)
www.kitebuilder.com (Pennsylvania)
http://ecom.citystar.com/hang-em-high/ (Hang-em High in Richmond, VA)
www.worldwindkites.com (Texas)
Desire spine is .157 in diameter - lenght is 94.5 cm
Pass along your address to me and I'll mail you a new connector for your Techno leading edge.
Cheers,

I started to post a question about how to get replacement parts for a Techno (lower spreader), but as I read a bit more in this thread, sounds like I should use one of the sources noted in earlier post to purchase SkyShark P200 tube and 'make' a replacement? i assume if I read further on site like kitebuilder I'll find out how to cut and 'glue' in a solid rod to make the male end on the spreader that broke? Am I on the right track? Any hints?
Thanks, Paul _________________ SerenityNow! |
