Is anyone out there flying a Firestorm? I've wanted one ever since I first saw one at my favorite kite shop, World Wind Kites (http://www.worldwindkites.com), a few years ago. I fly for fun with my kids and I'm sure such a large kite in the air next to their small Ignitors will be a site to see. I know they aren't made any more, and they're hard to find, but I found one for sale and I'm considering the purchase of it. NTK, how many of these were made/sold?

Hi Riofrioflyer,

The Firestorm is a fun and excellent flying kite. NTK does not normally comment on the number of products we make or sell. The Firestorm was produced for a couple of years, and we do not make a similar (10' wingspan) kite to replace it.

I hope this helps. Good winds to you.

Chris

Thanks for the fast reply, Chris.

I ordered a Dynamite and other accessories from Tye at WWK 2 days ago. He's been a big help to me at suggesting kites and giving me tips for flying. He used to display a blue Firestorm in his store a few years ago when I made my first purchase from him...a Beetle dual line for me and a Crayola foil single line for my daughter who was probably 2 at the time. I was very impressed with the size of the Firestorm and I've always wanted one. I went ahead and ordered a red one this morning. I found only 1 store on the internet in the US that had it and I didn't want to let it get away, in case they didn't have any others. It's an internet store through yahoo.com/stores so I hope it's legit. I found several for sale in stores in the UK and Australia. If I receive the kite from this internet store and it's a real NTK Firestorm, I'll post the URL in case anyone else is looking for one.

According to weatherbug, today's supposed to be a 10-15mph day. Does anyone out there fly at Garner State Park? That's where I'll be. Later on.

I'm a little slow on this topic, there are two Firestorms for sale at Kitelifes Classified page, $110.00 a piece or both for $200.00

This should be the link...

Thanks Kevin. I've been looking for that kite for a long time. I bought the red one. I received the red Firestorm 2 days ago, but haven't been out to fly it yet. Maybe I'll take if for a fly this morning, as the wind is howling out there right now.

After waiting for about a month for the new Firestorm to show up from the internet store where I found it for sale, the internet store finally contacted me to tell me they didn't have any for sale. That was several weeks ago and they still have the Firestorm listed on their website for sale as a new item.
