My Techno Trance come with no marking on the bridle. Could someone send me the bridle measurement of Techno, and I'll mark it myself. Thanks.

Eric

Eric,

Here is how my Techno's bridle measures.
Upper Leg: 21 inches (53.34 cm)
Lower Leg: 23 inches (58.42 cm)
Inhaul Leg: 25 inches (63.5 cm)

Hope this helps.

Take care,
Jim

Thanks for responding Jim. I am confriming that the mark is 54 cm from the upper leg (after it has been knotted to the leading edge).

Thanks Jim. You're so helpful.
I checked mine and found so much different than yours. My measurement is:
Upper: 55.50cm
Lower: 60cm
Inhaul: 63cm
Seem like my bridle length is longer, would I have to cut it...? I'm wondering why there is different bridle measurement on 2 same kite...?
I found my Techno was difficult to hold the Fade. And couldn't... I don't know how to say... Like couldn't "boost"..., I mean sudden speed up, no matter how hard I pull (in strong wind), it still slow...
Anyway I like it, very smooth kite. Thanks Chris.

Eric

Eric,,
Keep working at the fade. I have problems holding the fade some days too. Some days I can fade like crazy, awsome flic-flacs, rising fades etc. Other days it justs wants to nose down and fly away. I also suffer from "inland variable" winds and this makes it harder to hold as well. Just for grins, I have put some of the weights from my Big Bang Pro on the Techno when the wind is up and this seems to make the kite sit tail lower - nose higher which helps me hold the fade better.

When you say "boost" are you looking to make the kite faster flying in the whole wind window? or just making it a constant speed while doing precision type figures? One thing you could try is different length lines. Shorter lines to decrease the window which may make things happen quicker. I like to fly mine on the 100ft lines unless the wind is really low then I change to 80ft lines.

Take care,
Jim

Eric,

You may want to move your bridle attachment up about one cm or so. This will help with forward speed. Since the bridle is dacron, it is possible it may stretch a little bit, hence the slight differences in our messurements. I do not have the master bridle specifcations here in front of me.

Thanks Chris and Jim.
Chris, why don't just print the bridle measurement of all your NTK stunt kites in the manual or in NTK FAQ (or kites support) website. Then your customers don't have to ask again and again, that would free up your times.
Thanks Jim. I mean "boost" is when doing precision, I want the kite sometime speed up and sometime slow. My FC can do that. Like sometime I'll do a fast square turn (pull hard and moving backwards), then snap stall and do a slow circle turn (this time I pull it light, not moving backwards). Fade is very easy with FC (no weight kit), I can fade all day with it (of course must depend on the smooth wind). I learned many tricks with it. But that was after changed the bridle measurement that Chris posted in this forum (Thanks Chris). Before that FC can't really "boost" too. My FC original inhaul length was longer 3cm than the one Chris posted. (Chris, I think you should knock those employee's head, I think they're half sleep doing their work.) The FC is the best kite in my kite bag, lot of fun! Jim, I advise you to get one too. Very easy for learning trick.
I would try the Techno bridle measurement that you posted, Chris. And try it this weekend. BTW, what's the different between C and CA APA connector? I need to tell my kites supplier (www.sky-dancer.com) the size of this connectors for my FC. I have glued the heat shrink on the speader. But sometime while disassemble the kite, the heat shrink stuck in the connector... I'll have to dig out and re-glue again (many times already). Still can't find any adhesive heat shrink yet.
Chris, you said you would send the connectors to me in my post (Buy another Dodd's kite) last time, but I haven't receive it. Wrong mailing address?
Anyway, thanks so much for help.

Smooth breeze everyone.
Eric

Hello fratz,
I believed all standoffs are 90° angle to the lower spreader.

Hope this helped.

Good breeze
Eric

I have a couple that are slightly slanted toward the spine to put pressure on lower spreaders pushing them into the center tee.
I have been flying it with them at 90 degrees, but I like to put some mark or tape to keep them in the correct position.
Thanks,
