I work at a hobby store Very Happy and I have talked to our rep about it. In March there was a problem with the nose piece, in May they didnt know why we were still on backorder. I was hoping to have the newest latest greatest to sell our customers. as well as the thrill of being the only (big) kid on the block with one. especially with the the focus being on planes this week for that lovely little covention called EAA.

The NTK Mirage has been delayed. If you can not stand to be without one, I suggest buying a hand made version from Jones Airfoils.

Hi Lilly,

I am flattered that you have pre-ordered my design. Thank you for such thoughtful consideration. It is our intention to deliver the best possible product and kite flyers like yourself absolutely deserve that. To our knowledge, everyone involved is doing what they can to bring the Mirage Warbird Triple to you for your enjoyment. Thank you for your patience, we know a lot of people are excited about having something quality in both construction and flight that is unique. From our perspective, as of now the kites are looking and flying great and it's just a matter of some minor details.

Best Regards,
Mike Jones

Thanks much for the consideration. I await the day I get to fly the mirage I have had such fantastic luck with my kites and look forward to adding another to the harem. I love gathering a few friends and going to the park for some flying. I have gotten a few people into some serious flying and hope to further the hobby more in the future. If you can make it come to the mots festival. it's always a good festival, wind providing oh, by the way what is the pull factor on the mirage I have heard that stacked kites have quite a bit of pull. also what is the noise factor? I love big loud kites!

Great to hear you are gaining gravity with kite flyers in your area, keep it up! The OshKosh event is something I'd like to go to someday.

The Mirage was designed from the beginning to fly as a stack kite so you can fly as many as you like to achieve whatever pull you are comfortable with; you don't have to stop at 3 kites. They are pretty quiet kites because they are designed to be nimble, quick, fast and precise. Noise can be fun also but it is parasitic drag. Mirages in thier triple configuration aren't known to be hard pullers until you get into the upper teens. Over the years they have often been a favorite stunt kite of women. But I think it is an empowering feeling for a lot of people to blaze across the skies in higher winds with our stacks and fly confidently. Once you have done it, it is very therapeutic and addicting. Less energy is spent leaning your center of gravity against them so you can concentrate on flying even as the winds increase you can fly in comfort and style with no wories of switching to a vented, just keep on flyin You don't need a ground stake either. When landed properly, they hug the ground and stay in place on their own. When they become too much in higher wind, just drop the last kite from the stack and increase your angle of attack. I fly on 50# spectra till about 11 mph then go to 80#. The New Tech versions of my design are tweaked for moderate to higher winds and will include Trusstix so they will be a little on the beefy side since people are looking forward to them for that.

Not sure this is the right place to talk about it though. This forum belongs to Dodd Gross for discussion of his designs but I'd like to guess no one is going to be too upset about it

All the best,
Mike

thank you for all the consideration I am also greateful all the solid advice. It's always refreshing to hear about some of the more technical aspects of the kites and to learn some of the finer adjustments to look for when flying. I will pass that info on to the customers looking for advice. thanks a million and happy flying:P
