|

Below are pics that Chris posted in May of 2005 of the prototype model of the French Kiss kite. It's the little sister/brother of the French Connection. It measures 210 cm wide, whereas the French Connection is slightly wider, with a width of 231 cm.
These pics are prototype pics only, and when the production kite is final made, the kite may look graphically different. These pics are only posted because a few people have asked about the French Kiss and asked for pics of the kite.
Original Prototype "French Kiss"
Size: 210 cm wide

Any ballpark on when the French Kiss will be available? Will there be any prototypes at Outer Banks
By the way, the graphics work for me--definitely evoke the French Connection while also being distinct. |

With any product, prototypes often change as the design is tested, and usually the final product can be slightly or moderately different than the original prototype.
Chris, also said that he is trying to aquire one of the original prototypes to bring to Outer Banks, to let people try, but won't promise that he will have one for sure, while there. The only two prototypes in the USA right now are in the hands of RickG and Dodd, and Dodd is going to China to the NTK factory next week, and I don't know if RickG will be at Outer Banks SKC next weekend.
Chris couldn't say when the FK will be available, so people will just have to wait in anticipation. _________________ Troy Gunn - TKO Sport Kite Team - USA

I hope I am not "feeding the flames" of pre availability hype, but just wondering how the FK will compare to the FC. I am assuming they will share some common flight characteristics. Will the FK be a lighter weight, lower wind kite than the FC? _________________ NT Kites In the Bag:

As Troy said, I will be going to China tomorrow for awhile and work everything out. Hopefully start on the video. The music is by my band Lucid Dreamers http://www.luciddreamers.net
Our website needs updated, still has the old band members on it. We were up late last night recording more music for the new DVD, almost completed.
Click on Ferry Festival 2006 to see the new line up of Musicians.
As I said in the past, the French Kiss was developed last year along with 11 other designs. Only the French Connection was used though. So I still have a lot left.
The French Kiss actually came slightly before the Connection, or during, somthing like that, but it was sadly put on hold.
It is intended to be, like the FC only smaller. It is the reason why the contest winner Mike's graphics will be used and not something else at this point in time.
Other forums asked where I have been, why I don't post, am I out of kiting etc.....
The truth is, I've been flying, not typing.......
Flying, not talking...................
In the mortal words of a faithful Newtech Employee, ROB
"Don't say, DO!"
So I've been doing............
I really hope that you like the new designs. I know they are good, they fly great and the next step is to have them manufactured to a higher standard than ever before.
Wish me luck!
Thanks for your support.
Sincerely,
Dodd Gross |

Yeah.... this remind me the old said, "Silence is golden."
We'll wait for you, Dodd!
BTW Dodd, are you play Jazz or Rock? Any Country music? I love Country music and songs so much. My favorite artist is John Denver, so sad he left this world so quick... I still listen to his songs while flying the FC. Techno and Desire every weekend... (I like his voice... tears drop sometime...)
Bellamy Brothers are very good too...

I'm back!
A wonderful trip, very successful, had a great time with both new and old friends, collegues, co workers etc...........In addittion, I attended a Kite Festival where I was happy to see that yall didnt forget about me!
Found new experiences, have luck I guess you could call it with the new designs, got the kite surfing bug again although I didnt actually go out, but I will next time, good thing I stopped smoking and started working out.......
The French Kiss rocks! IMO anyway, I hope you like it too! The UL is comming along well along with some other things too...........
Lucid Dreamers is a mix of world beat and Prog..Rock. But the styles and influences vary between the 5 members. We mostly record, write orginals, and experiment with styles and rythyms.....
My other band is a cover band, Catagory 6, made up of 5 very experienced musicians also, but geared more towards classic rock, parties, bars etc..........
So i have the best of both worlds and for me, being virtually out of music for so long, it is an honor to have slipped right back into it with such talented musicians in both bands.

No, the French Kiss is a smaller version of the French Connection. It rocks!
Still finalizing it now with new frames and bridles but initial testing is very good.
After the Kiss, I think that will be the end of "French" for a while......
