I saw that Ken, thanks.
My reply that I did not post was this.
"and we are happy to be there!"
"For years with certain kite shops it was very diffiult to get into because they were sewn up with basically one main supplier from thier side of the country, but something has changed. All of a sudden, we are in shops that I never thought we would be in before.
We have been in some of these shops though for years but with only entry level sport kites and of course single line, but not like now, something has changed for the better and I am really happy to see it, finally!"
I didnt post that though.

Welcome to the forum!
Thats Four Winds Kite shop. One of the few shops that I used to do yearly Flight Schools with. I know the owners well. They have always been supportive and know good kites when they see them!
Most of the DD/NTK lower end kites have always just gone out the door quickly compared to the competition. And now we see that trend with the larger sizes. The Cherry Bomb, the Pyro XS, the Techno, all difficult now to keep in stock, dont worry, we will make more!
We can mention shops here. We can promote them, we can recommend them......
Topics for more threads, "your favorite on line kite shop" "your favorite brick and morter shop"

I guess i have been over at GWTW too long where listing shops isn;t favored.Erv and Gail Crosby have fond memories of you coming and doing you;r flight school classes here Dodd. They are very good people, and i;m happy to support them.I have been flying kites since the late 80s and when i first wanted to start learning tricks many years ago the only kite Erv recommended was you;r Dynamite.Which is getting very old and beat up but still flys great.Thats one reason i picked up a big bang the other day..Keep up the great work Dodd and NTK. _________________ John:Everett WA>"GIVE ALL EXPECT NOTHING"

Thank you so much for that John. I loved going there and would love to return soon. They always treated me wonderfully. Ron flies up that way, when you see him tell him I said hello.
This year marks the 10th anniversary for Flight School. I would love to do a 10th year anniversary tour this year or possibly next year, and include erv and gail on that tour.
I know its sort of funny, almost liberating to post names of shops and subjects we could touch on GWTW. Kind of nice. GWTW is a good customer too, but we have many customers in the US and around the world, not just one and by my constant participation of that newsgroup, it was sort of unfair to the rest of our customers. Another reason why we I think Chris wanted a NTK forum.
Best wishes

We are one of those shops... We have had limited supplies of Dodd's kites, but after spending quite a bit of time hangin out with him at KTAI and a mutual friendship with John Barresi we are starting to come around. Thanks Dodd!
I will make a quick comment on Prism from a N.W. shop's perspective. We dropped the R.O.C. kites from our line up for lack of supply, lack of information, inability to deliver and the un-willingness on our part to compete with the big sporting goods stores.
Dodd, please sign us up for some of the signed and numbered F.C. As we have told you, this is the Dodd Gross kite we have been waiting for!
Thanks for the no-flame and open forum... You guys needed it! _________________ Scott

Hello Scott,
I am pretty stoked about this new kite, the French Connection.
It is a culmination of the past few designs of mine, including the most recent to hit the market, the Techno.
The Techno, is actually everything I loved about the Jam........
And like the Jam, the Techno was designed for all skill levels, focusing on the new sport kite flier's second kite, even a fliers first.
We've been working for the past 5 years very hard establishing ourselves as one of the leaders if not the leader in entry level and mid level sport kites and this year really did it for us with the continuation of the Ignitor, and the new SUPER ENTRY LEVEL sport kites, the Detonator and Cherry Bomb which are really doing well. Then the mid level which is now $50+
which includes the almost 7' carbon framed Pyro XS and then of course the new Techno which IMO is redefining the entry level sport kite with its Skyshark frame and size for $80 or so...
So like you Scott, I've been waiting for a kite like the French Connection too! I thought it would have been the Seduction, but we were not ready then, both the manufacturing and my design. But now, we are as you can see by our improvement in quality. And to me, it still needs to improve and it will.
Thanks again, hope to see you soon, fly with you soon,,,
sincerely
Dodd |
