Well I have a 3 year old Pyro with a bad (limp) lower spreader connector. I did not see an exact match at Goodwind kites but I think the APA 5mm should work. Since my boss at the hobby shop saw me fly he is now excited to sell New Tech Kites which he has tried to sell before, but had no one who knew them. Well I guess now I have to become a kite wiz again and out goes my money. Ordered a Pyro XS and a Big Bang next will be a Spirit. We will be the only kite retailer that I know of in central Illinois and hopefully I can get a kite revolution started. If having an audience when I fly is a good sign then things should go well.

Thanks for the good kites and any info to increase my what I would consider novice knowledge is welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Scott

As Dodd would say, "thanks for helping grow the sport!" We have a city "fun fly" at the local park coming up in May, and I'll be bringing my FC out there to show off & hopefully get some folks interested in dual-lines. Don't worry about the money, it'll all be returned in the fun you'll have with tethered flight.

What we need is media attention, movie segments, something to show folks how far we've taken kites. Too many people have no idea what these things can do and what a great hobby it is.

If you don't have a DVD already, get Dodd's, it's a fun way to learn. I took it just one or two segments at a time, it's overwhelming if you try to practice everything at once. And don't forget to move on once you're comfortable with the maneuvers you do know. Well, scratch that last one, the main thing, the only thing, is to have fun.

Well I got the Pyro XS and have been working on my rusty skills. The kite flies great! I put an order in through Horizon for some Cherry Bombs, Ignitors, Pyro XSs, a Big Bang (for me but it is on back order) and I think some Detonators. I am also looking at some single line kites that might peek the peoples interest. So if anyone is looking in the central Illinois area for some fun flying you now have a place.
