I have not tried it but will tomorrow. I have some questions that came to me while I was assembling it. 1. For the lower spreader edge connectors, there is around 2 inches of space available, by default, it is in the upper position but I want to know how lowering them will change the kite behavior? 2. For the weight system, what range of wind speed is appropriate for no weight, one weight and two weights? 3. Are the rubber covers supposed to be over the knots from the black tension line? 4. When I disassemble the kite to put it in its pouch, is there some steps I can skip? (like letting the tension line tighted) And finally 5. What kind of glue is suggested for the rings? I know that this is a lot of questions for my first post but I want to trully understand this new passion. (Sorry for my english, I'm a french speaking person) Thanks in advance for your time! USA Posted: Thu Apr 27, 2006 9:03 am    Post subject: Valbowski, I can answer most of your questions. 1.The 2" of space at the lower leading edge at lower spreader fitting is to make it easy to disassemble the lower leading edge from upper leading edge.I never tried moving the connector much.You need to keep the lower spreaders straight with the center tee,if you dont keep them straight they will be prone to breaking. 2.More wind your going to want more weight,but the French Connection flies well with all 20 grams from 3 to 15 or so for me and I rarely remove the weights and when I do I dont leave them off for long but thats just me. 3.The black end caps on the nocks cover everything and help prevent snagging your lines on them. 4.Remove upper and lower spreaders and rollup the sail taking care that the standoffs are not in sail and put the kite in the bag.Thats how I handle all my kites when putting them away.I have around 400 hours on my proto FC and have not had any problems putting it away like that. 5. ? ps: Your english is very good! If you are refering to the rings holding the Jaco fittings (Stand off holders) I don't really think you need to glue them like they mention in the manual. Besides one of mine was already glued and I ruined it when I tried to remove it. The other ones were very hard to remove so I don't see the point in putting glue in them. Besides if later you want to move the stand-offs you will have a hard time doing it. I am visiting the city and have been looking around for a store without much luck. Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I dd a search on Montreal on the forum and your thread was the only one that came up.
