Other than the difference in frame material, are there any big changes in the Techno between this years incarnation and last's?
I found a good deal on an '05 with a pultruded frame and I am trying to weigh the savings against any improvements on the '06 I would miss out on (like the p-200 wrapped frame).
On another note does any one have any suggestions on changing panel colors without sewing in new panels? Paints, dyes, markers...? _________________ 8-D |

The Techno was never made with a pultruded frame. There is no difference between the '05 and '06 models.

Thanks for correcting me on that Chris. I must have confused the Techno specs with another kite they had there.
That just leaves my second question, any ideas on coloring panels?
Update: It may not have been an '05, but when I went back to check it out the tag said it has a 6mm pultruded frame and came with dacron lines. I guess it was an older model. _________________ 8-D

Chris mentioned wearing rose colored glasses to change the kite's color panels. Great idea Chris!
If you really want the full effect of different colors, you should try taking some **************. May I suggest angel dust, PCP, or perhaps some Magic mushrooms. ROTFLMAO _________________ Troy Gunn - TKO Sport Kite Team - USA

I've wondered about changing the colors too. I really like "trace" and want to get one for my mom, but would like it to be blue instead of red... or some other color so when we fly together she doesn't get as easily confused on which one is her kite
Is the "trace" still available? Seems like a few places I've look only have the other two color combos left...

Selah,
If you don't want your mom to get confused when you pairs fly the same color kites, tie a short tail (3 ft or less) to the bottom of the spine of her kite, so that her kite is slightly different than yours. _________________ Troy Gunn - TKO Sport Kite Team - USA

If you still want to be somewhat matching, then both of you put tails on your kites, but use different color tails. Pick two of the colors in your kite sails and try and match up those two colors. Then, place a different color tail on each kite. Hardware stores (Lowes, Home Depot, even Walmart) sell surveyors ribbon on 100 ft roles, and the roles cost about a dollar or two each, and they sell lots of different colors. You can experiment with different tail lengths to create a cool visual effect! I've even used 200 ft tails before! _________________ Troy Gunn - TKO Sport Kite Team - USA

I haven't had a chance to try it, but I bet the Techno would be able to fly my 100' tube tail!!
Hope to see you at LifeNet's festival! Will depend on hubby... he just had a skingraft on his leg and is supposed to be as immobile as possible... not fun for either of us, but the cat is enjoying it She thinks a bed downstairs is a ingenious idea.

Unfortunately, when Lifenet changed their date, they rescheduled their event on Father's Day weekend and my daughter's birthday. My wife's side of the family are all coming to Wichita Falls (where I live), and we're doing a birthday party / father's day weekend gathering at our city's water park. _________________ Troy Gunn - TKO Sport Kite Team - USA

Yes, I'm still hosting a fun festival (oct 14-15) in Wichita Falls, TX, with sound system, demos, stunt kite lessons, team demos, socializing, vendors, etc...
Look at the regional kite events calendar that I maintain for the info. http://members.tripod.com/~TKOGunn1/kitecalender.htm _________________ Troy Gunn - TKO Sport Kite Team - USA
