If I dont get the bridle worked out soon on the smaller one, there wont be a smaller one. Its doing ok right now, still not rolling up the way I want but everything else is ok.

On the larger one, I havent made any changes so far since I've been back. I am waiting for Rick and Randy to tell me anything. I am now flying everyday, the reason I didnt meet you last night Rick, I flew for 3 hours during the day yesterday. Today, again, light and variable, like yesterday, not the best testing winds and not the winds I need right now, but the rain is comming tomorrow so today is the day.

Hey Dodd,
Do you think there really will be signed FC for sale? The numbered part doesn't matter that much to me but having an orange one signed would be cool.

I just wanted to know if you ever worked out the bridle problems on the smaller FC.
If not, have you tried connecting the Bridle Inhaul Legs to points lower than the center T??? (Like on the Transfer) Or is this not even close to the problem?

Hi, thought I would give you and update about the French Connection.

We are slightly delayed due to a material issue, but we are confident that it will be solved shortly.

The French Connections that I have brought back to the US are prototypes and are not yet completed. But, I feel that after this weekend only a few more minor changes need to be made.

The Bridle.
on the Prototypes, there is a 150# black Turbo style bridle.
This is still changing, and Randy, I will send you the new bridle soon, or at least the measurements. This one allows the newer trick flier to find the tricks, to give them a bit of time going into them, but the forward drive is knocked down a bit and it flies a bit heavy.

3 point bridle
Just figured that out this past weekend and I want to thank the guys on the field with me in Wildwood who were checking out the new kite and I dont want to name drop........but all i can say is that I was very happy with what they told me, and they are great fliers who believe as I do that the French Connection will be a success.
This bridle gives the flier on demand response to the kite. The skill level that will appreciate this bridle and these settings, are more seasoned at slack line tricking. Right now I prefer the Tubo after i worked on it a bit more yesterday.

The kite will either come with both bridles with the Turbo intalled, or one convertable bridle.

I will be dialing it in, (hopefully with some help with Rick and Randy) over the next couple weeks.
After that, the material issue should be solved, and we plan on producing at least 100, possibly 200 French Connection LE.

The SRP of this limited Edition, will be somewhere around $170 give or take.......

As it gets closer we will give you a heads up on who has them. You can also call your favorite dealer and ask them to contact newtech for infoand pre order. chris@newtechkites.com or Rob@newtechkites.com but the only answer from them right now will be the price, because we just dont know an exact date. For info about the kite, they should contact Dodd@newtechkites.com

More details to follow.

sounds great, the FC LE is that the larger one im assuming? if this is a limited edition for $170 does that mean the other ones to follow will be less since they wont be limited editions?

Good deal, Dodd! Just let me know.

Either the turbo or 3 point would be nice to try. Now that you feel you have found the correct bridle and settings (btw, everyone should know this is nothing out of the ordinary for any kite designer to go through. My hat is off to anyone that can design a kite and figure out a bridle!!!) I look forward to trying them out on this prototype. Will the tip fade line stay? What about the yoyo cage and roll bars?

You mentioned a convertible bridle over on GWTW. Is that still a possibility? Some kites I like a turbo on and others I like a 3 point. Different strokes I guess.

I should add that I really like the looks of the kite in flight. I have a few somewhat rough photos I took late last week. My camera was struggling to get a good focus that day for some reason but I'll add a link for those interested. Hope that's is OK Dodd.

I'm bumping up this thread so that people can see the original pics of the French Connection and the French Kiss.
