| I have a air yo but one of the tiny ferrels has snapped which join the main ring together. I need some spares to repair and incase they break again. |

I would just use a bit of carbon spar, just big enouth to go over the ring...then superglue in place....it will be easier to do this and find a spar outlet then them little ferreles and your have loads out of a lenght of spar _________________ 'keep it high dudes' |

Kiteman,
Did the ferrule break (as in snapped in half) or did it come unglued?
Feel free to email me directly.
Thanks,
Chris

I have a couple of the early first generation Air-Yos, where the spar snapped because the ferrules were too short... I understand these were fixed in later generations, but I still have a couple of sails that are in need of some spars... Any advice?

Replace the spars. The latest generation also has velcro strips along the rim making it so much easier to assemble. _________________ "Fly a kite for a child and you entertain them for the day. Teach a child to fly a kite and you entertain them for life." |

John,
Your local shop can order replacement Air-YO carbon spars from New Tech Kites. E-mail Rob@newtechkites.com
Or you can order them from World Wind Kites, which shares the same building with New Tech. Ask Tye Harrison at World Wind Kites and he will fix you up: Their website has the contact info:
http://www.worldwindkites.com
BTW - since you have the original Air-Yo sails, a great trick for holding the sail in place over the carbon frame/ring, is to use those wooden cloths line pins that are used to hand laundry from cloths lines. Also those plastic clips that are used to keep opened potato chip bags closed when not in use, work well too. Using the clips will allow you to assemble the Air-Yo much faster!
