I'll help out, lets start another one, why do you fly? I fly for the same reason I sail, I am a wind junkie. But mostly for the flat out enjoyment. I laugh when I slam one of my kites, I laugh when someone else slams one of my kites. Having a pretty stressful job, I can go put up a kite and forget everything that happened during the week. I personaly will always fly strickly for fun. I spent all day at the beach Saturday chasing my 9 ft thunderfoil that I was letting a 9 yr old and her parents fly. I laughed so hard I had tears running. To me, thats what it is all about. _________________ ken

wind...and sand...and shapely women wearing very little.
Kite flying is pure stress release. I, too, have a high stress job. |

| There's always one more thing to learn and a bunch of maneuvers to perfect. And yes, it's a great stress reliever for me too, when I fly I think of nothing else but flying. |

| I fly because I love to be in control of the kite. |

I fly because it's something my whole family can do together. Living in a world that seems to always be in a hurry, time seems to stop for just a few minutes. And during that time I can relax. laugh & enjoy life. _________________

In short, because its fun. Flight has been a dream and inspiration of mankind since primordial times. Most of the time when I go out to fly my kites at the local park, I have spectators that go out of their way to watch, and I'm not that good. People just driving by reguarly pull over to watch. The park grounds keepers have asked me what kind of "remote control" I was using on my kite. And once I was MOBBED by a class of first graders on a field trip to the park. I think that shows the thrill is pretty universal, its just most folks don't know what modern kites can do. It ain't like when I was a kid.
To dream, to look for the proverbial better way. Its inherent in mankind, and kites do that for me.
