After flying my Techno a bunch this weekend and then getting shutout by lower winds with it I started thinking it would be great to have a Techno UL for lighter winds.
I have a Desire UL which is great but I really like the shape and design and feel my Techno has and think it would be great to have a matching "set" Standard and UL Techno.
Any plans in the future to come out with a Techno UL or is the French Connection going to have a matching UL to compliment it in lighter winds? _________________ http://community.webshots.com/user/mau_cd |

thanks for the questions. The FC never went into production. I dont know when it will, but there will be no UL of it until it goes into production and sells well.
I do have plans for a UL to go into production that I designed at the beginning of the year, but that is up to the factory at this point.
I will let you know about that and thanks so much for your interest in our products

Thanks much for the reply Dodd
I like my Desire UL ALOT and this summer it seems to get the most flying time because of the winds I get in my area. Even when I get winds around 4-8 mph I get better flight out of the Desire than my Techno. My Techno seems to get better flight and response for me in consistent 6-10+ mph winds. 6 and below the winds here are swirly or inconsistent so I get the Techno up for a bit but as soon as the wind drops it just falls outta the sky I'd like to fly my Techno alot more. I haven't played with the bridle yet but think I'm ready to try some adjustments to get it to fly in lower winds. Any suggestions on how much and what to adjust on my bridle to get better light wind performance Sounds like WingedV is getting good light wind performance out of his FC. Must be some bridle adjusting I'm guessing...well and more experience than me Looking forward to the release of your FC but patiently waiting _________________ http://community.webshots.com/user/mau_cd |

I dont know what to tell you, I can fly my Technos in around that 3mph Now I have to work it a bit, but I can trick it in that. It is not a UL, but its frame, being a P-200 is pretty light. P-100s would lighten it up a bit, and so would a polyester sail. I suppose a supper skinny frame would really do the trick, but the price would be very high.
The new UL that is scheduled to come out is more similar to the French Connection, but smaller. I developed it to fill the needs of the guys who said they wanted a yank and spank UL. Still working on the lower spreader issue which is right now, Supper skinnies.....
I dont want to tell you the name of it yet, because I dont want to go through another FRench Connection deal where I work on it, get it ready, finish it, announce it, and then because of circumstances beyond our control, it doesnt go into production when we originally planned and then you guys are left saying, "where is it?"
There is another, smaller UL comming too. Thats all I can say about it for now. A few have seen and flown both of these ULs at various sneak previews, events in the US, but nothing formal yet.
So hang in there and thanks for you patients, I hope that all the new kites will be ready for resale before the end of the year is out.
Sincerely

The FC should be available by January or Febuary. _________________ "Fly a kite for a child and you entertain them for the day. Teach a child to fly a kite and you entertain them for life." |
