Team Full Moon only team to represent the USA at the Weifang International Kite Festival
Team Full Moon is proud to announce they will be representing the USA at the Weifang International Kite Festival April 20-24th, 2006. The internationally acclaimed event has been hosted continuously since 1984. It attracts thousands upon thousands of visitors from around the region, China and kiting enthusiasts from around the world. Last year representatives from over 20 countries came to Weifang to enjoy the festival, share their talents, and experience, and learn about China, Weifang, and it’s people. This year should prove even more spectacular.
Team Full Moon will be part of the inaugural ceremony, a legendary show, on April 20th. They will be representing the USA during the “Olympic style” parade, which presents all the international and honored guests in a stadium that holds 80,000 people. Following the precession of special guests, Team Full Moon will enjoy the spectacular traditional performances, dancers, gymnastic routines, live traditional Chinese and modern rock/pop music during the opening ceremonies.
On the morning of April 21st, Team Full Moon will participate in the 10,000 people Kite-flying Performance. Following that, they will complete in the World Kite Championship Contest. Team Full Moon will compete in both the Team Precision and Team Choreographed events competing for cash prizes.
Team Full Moon consists of Chris Shultz, general manager of New Tech Kites, Moon Kushner, kite goddess and Mike Jones, kite designer with Jones Airfoils. Between the 3-team members, they have over 45 years of stunt kite flying experience. Doug Mullins joins Full Moon, providing ground control and single line kite displays.
The media is welcome to attend the teams final practice session in Austin, TX April 9th & 10th. _________________ "Fly a kite for a child and you entertain them for the day. Teach a child to fly a kite and you entertain them for life."

Team practice was held this weekend in Austin's own Zilker Park. Glorious weather made for two full sessions on Saturday & Sunday. Team Full Moon is confident they will make a good impression in Weifang.
Setting up...
Mike Jones unveiled his massive KAP rig - a 12' wingspan Dopero, which sailed high above the park on Sunday. We look forward to seeing KAP pictures of the Forbidden City and The Great Wall.
Chris flies a blue moon
Doug flying high again...
Talkin' kites with Moon and the Austin skyline.

Way to go,Team Full Moon!
Congratulations on bringing the medal home.
Out of the bag stock Techno's or were they tweaked?
I had my Techno in the air last week and I never thought about team flying with the Techno.but now that it was brought up...that is a good idea!
Great tracking and snappy when it needs to be and easy to control the speed.
Third place the first time out proves that. huh? _________________

Thanks Rick!
The Technos were stock. Not a single modification. _________________ "Fly a kite for a child and you entertain them for the day. Teach a child to fly a kite and you entertain them for life." |

Thanks to Doug Mullins for the following pictures of the team in action...
You can see how crowded the skies were above and around the competition field. So dangerous in fact that the Malaysian team was cut out of the sky 5 times during their two performances.

Cool...! 3 Techno Trance. Beautiful! I like that one - fm3.jpg. Is there any larger format (larger and finer) to download? I want to save it as desktop wallpaper on my computer. It will be good if there is a video to watch Team Full Moon fly the Techno...

Alas! We have no video from the event, although I believe it was all recorded by the organizers.
Send me your email address and I'll forward a larger image for you.
