I finally got my Air-Yo put together from Kite Party 3.

This thing is a lot of fun. My new favorite SSUL. Even my 8 Y/O son who is, all baseball all the time, is having fun with it.

So, I can get it to move around in diferent directions but what tricks are YOers doing?

Any videos?

Thanks

We should really get the designers on here to give you the direct and best tricks, but also from doing many trade shows with the air yo in the booth, Chris is quite good, Michael is pretty good, and I am not too shabby either.

One of the tricks Tim first taught me was the

triangle.

To get the air yo to move 360 degrees around you by using 3 pulls in a triangle configuration.

ladder

Going back in fourth in front of you, try giving a slight up angle to the air yo right before you pull so the kite slightly increases altitude with each pull until it is over your head, try to straighten it out for a couple of passes and then begin to lower it.

Over your head

From the ground, pull the air yo but give a up jerk to the wand causeing the yo to come off the ground at a high pitch angle towards the ceiling.
Then try it again from about 2' but this time go over your head, once it is over your head, use the same movements as you did in the ladder at the highest position.

Always keep the wand and control line under the yo.

Under the feet

Stand with you back towards the yo, line stretched out, aggressively pull the wand with a very slight up angle, very slight and jump!
Once it passes under you, go right into a triangle and begin linking the tricks together just the same as you would with dual line flying.

Dont foget to practice using different line lengths while you are flying, this is a lot of fun.

I have a lot more, but someone else jump in here.....

Got my Air-yo two weeks ago, and an aggressive pull is just one thing I can't seem to do with it. I've tightened up the leechline-type thing, but the sail still pops off pretty easily.

Maybe it's a touch thing, or maybe I need to see a demonstration.

Hi Barry, when I say aggresive, i dont mean like swinging a baseball bat, use your wrist like tennis. More wrist than arm. Try that

Sincerely

dvd ... not here in uk and would ya believe it since getting my air-yo its always been windy....
but would i like to get me hands on a copy of that dvd ..sure would, if anyone can suggest how im a listening..
a few dudes that i have informed about the air-yo are really pleased with it,the first one we put together was a little tricky but have now done many and i have found that if you keep the tension line in its clip you can get the spar inside then tighten it,if its not in its clip the line tends to go into the stitching and can be a bugger to get back through...look at all my posting on the air-yo and your see i am really exited about ths new air toy from the great dudes at air tech.....tis great so a big thanks for giving me something to do while theres no wind..now can ya just stop the wind in the uk so i can go and play:)......if ya know a way for me to get the dvd please e-mail me at robbrix@aol.com....

Hey, I wanna see the DVD!

Does it show how more than one person can "play" with it? I totally don't understand the whole linking process.

Hi Shela,

Linking more than one person to an Air-YO is easy. It requires extra Control Rods. Simple attach (via larkshead slip knot) the extra tether lines to the Air-YO attachment point and vola! Now you can play 'anti-catch' and do other cool stuff. I've played with as many as three people.

See you at Lifenet in a few weeks?

Cheers,

Chris

I haven't flown an Air-Yo in awhile, but one of the tricks I was doing was basically a 360, without the "triangle"..

Basically you have to turn your body in a circle, trying to maintain a steady tension on the line to make the AirYo do a big circle around you.

Another cool "trick", is when you get the AirYo to be out in front of you on its side (so it looks like a big O, which usually happens when the wind catches it) and flick down... the AirYo will go side to side..

I've discovered that a lot of the tricks (especially the ones overhead) are easier if you flick down like a yo-yo.
