Can anyone who has a French Connection check how far out from the front (longer) portion of the spine the spine insert is supposed to extend?
When I got mine on Friday most of the glue seemed to have dried up and cracked. When I pulled away the rear portion of the spine, the insert pull free and just fell to the floor. I would like to clean it off and re-glue it back into place. Just want to make sure that when I do, I don't glue the insert too far in or to far out and take the kite away from its "factory default" weight distribution.
Also, it is safe to just use nail polish remover/acetone to remove the old glue?
Many thanks,
Sam |

Glue the ferrel in about half way Sam. A gap filling glue will work best.

Sure. A little sand paper might also help. _________________ "Fly a kite for a child and you entertain them for the day. Teach a child to fly a kite and you entertain them for life." |

Thanks Chris... found a glue which is listed as "shock-resistant" as well as "gap-filling", so hopefully that will help with any bumpy flights or less than graceful landings.
Replacement (and spare) spreaders for Desire UL came in today, but of course.... now that leaves me impatient for the weekend.
Need to get off my butt and sleeve some short lines, so I can fly at work during lunch. Grumble, grumble, grumble... |
