I was just watching the video for NT entry level kites, and saw the Detonator trained with 2 other Detonators. Is there any info on attaching the extra kites to the lead? Have never done that before, but looks like fun, especially for the lower cost kite like the Detonator - wouldn't break the bank to do that.
Any info or links to go read would be great. Thanks. |

Stacking sport kites is easy and fun. You need one link (train) line for every bridle connection point on the lead kite. For most delta stunters, that means five. For a clean flying stack, all the train lines need to be of equal length. As a general rule of thumb, the train lines should be about as long as the leading edge of the kite. So your Detonator train lines need to be around 90 cm long. There is no real need to remove the bridles from the kites in the stack, so later on they can be flown as singles.
So, are you coming to the fun fly in Round Rock this Sunday?

Actually, since the first time I learned how to do this, (training sport kites together back in the late 80s, it was always 3/4 the length of the leading edge plus the loops.
Make 5 of them. One for each of the leading edge connectors and one for the Center T.
Then make 3-5 inch loops. make 5 for each kite except the first one.
Take your long link lines, and thread them through itself on the first one so the line is larks head directly to the kite, then attach the other end to the loops that you installed on the second kite, then take the next 5 lines and thread them through (around the leading edge spar, just under each connector, then attach them to the loop on the last kite. So for 3 kites, you will need 10 long lines and 10 loops.
Hope that helps
